Luxury Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet has announced Claude Emmenegger as its new creative director.

Emmenegger is known for his innovative designs combining both techniques and creativity. He created Audemars Piguet’s iconic Royal Oak concept in 2002.

Before that, Emmenegger had spent time in Longines and then Gucci, where he generated 23 great collections. His famous works included the G Watch, as well as The Tradition of Excellence models 2, 3 and 4.

In 2003, Emmenegger left Audemars Piguet to set up his own design consulting company, working with more than 40 brands in the following 12 years.

Now back at Audemars Piguet, Emmenegger will be focusing on women’s timepieces and hi-tech functional watches.
