First look at Vacheron Constantin's World Time models from its Overseas collection

Vacheron Constantin will launch World Time models from its Overseas collection in June 2016

Vacheron Constantin unveiled its new Overseas collection during this year’s SIHH in January. A new series of World Time models has been added to the collection which focuses on travel. The new models will be released next month.

The World Time models, bearing the prestigious Hallmark of Geneva certification, feature a dial that displays 37 time zones, including those that are off-set by a half-hour or quarter-hour in relation to UTC time. The centre of the dial features a “Lambert” projection map depicting the continents and the oceans and marked with city names. A third sapphire disc provides day/night indication.

Housing the self-wound Calibre 2460 WT, the 43.5mm-diameter case is rendered in stainless steel matched with soft iron casing ring to ensure anti-magnetic protection. The piece is water-resistant to 150 metres and boasts about 40 hours of power reserve. Three different dials – in silver, blue or brown – are available. The model also features Vacheron Constantin’s new interchangeable bracelets mechanism.

To complement the launch of its Overseas collection, Vacheron Constantin announced its collaboration with legendary photographer Steve McCurry earlier this year.

The photographer is commissioned to capture the beauty of 12 different locations across the globe.

The journey began in Geneva this February and will continue throughout the year. While other locations have not been revealed yet by the Swiss luxury watchmaker, it did disclose that a photo exhibition in Hong Kong is scheduled for September this year.
