Actor Kim Soo-hyun took part in a launch event for Korean beauty brand DPC on Monday, October 21, in Shanghai, China.
Actor Kim Soo-hyun is clearly embracing post-military life – and was this week spotted enjoying himself in the public eye in China.
Kim appeared in front of more than 300 people at a Shanghai hotel, where he was the top attraction at a launch event for Korean beauty brand DPC, on Monday (October 21).
“I am delighted to do my bit as DPC's ambassador,” Kim said during the event. He was appointed the brand’s global ambassador in July.
He clearly made an impression on the Chinese media and fans who greeted the star with an enthusiastic reception.
“We realised Kim's popularity once again this time,” a DPC official said.
Kim returned to civilian life in July after finishing 21 months of obligatory military duty. At one stage he was set to complete alternative military service due to a cardiac condition, but the actor was permitted to serve on active duty after an additional physical examination.
Kim, 31, debuted onscreen in 2007 and shot to fame after appearing in the TV dramas Dream High (2011), Moon Embracing the Sun (2012) and My Love from the Star (2013-14). In 2015, at 27, he became the youngest winner of the KBS Drama Award for acting.
