The model, actress and singer has appeared on Dancing with the Stars and released a song featuring the 14th Dalai Lama – so just who is Donald Trump’s second wife, and what is she up to now?
If you’ve been following Tiffany Trump’s movements recently, you’ll notice that her mother, Marla Maples, is rarely more than a few steps away. Nevertheless, Maples tends to steer clear of discussing one of America’s most divisive topics: the Trumps. But what do we know about this screen-star-turned-yogi?
Where is she from?
Maples was born on October 27, 1963 in Cohutta, Georgia, and reportedly caught Donald Trump’s eye while he was married to Czech-born Ivana Trump. Maples and Trump wed in 1993 – the year their daughter Tiffany was born – but they divorced in 1999.
What does she do?
Standing at five feet 8 inches (1.72 metres), Maples is a model and actress who played intramural basketball as a teenager and university student. She has appeared in several major movies and TV shows, including Dallas, Clueless and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, plus she’s scored hosting gigs – she once interviewed NBA star Michael Jordan on Inside Edition.
Just like Tiffany, Maples can sing, too. She released the album “The Endless” in 2013 that features the 14th Dalai Lama and Deepak Chopra. In 2016, she was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.
Maples is also known to attend Hillsong church – beloved by celebrities such as Justin Bieber and the Kardashians – however it’s her relationship with the US president that remains her biggest claim to fame.
She currently runs a wellness brand and splits her time between LA, where she raised Tiffany as a single mother, and New York City, where her daughter currently lives.
What’s her relationship with Donald Trump like?
Maples told The New York Times that she knew when they were together Donald Trump would run for president one day. She makes a conscious effort not to talk about the US president, instead saying diplomatically that she has friends on both sides of the political spectrum. In 2018, she told the Today show she “chooses not to judge” when asked if she’s ever surprised by the things Trump says.
Who is she dating?
Maples told The New York Times that she’s been so focused on her career and family that dating hasn’t interested her, but recently she has “opened the door to it”.
How much is she worth?
While Trump’s first wife Ivana got a US$25 million divorce settlement, Maples only got US$2 million. The deal included a house, plus child support payments for Tiffany. But in an Oprah Where Are They Now? interview during which she spoke about a former assistant stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from her, Maples admitted that there have been times where she has only had US$10 to her name.
