Five best spots to catch New Year’s Eve fireworks in Hong Kong
It’s party with a view to match at Tosca, Felix, Aqua, InterContinental Hong Kong and Alto

Ringing in the new year with an extravagant fireworks display is a tradition in Hong Kong – and this year, it’s set to be even more magical.
The display area will be widened by 35 per cent, and fireworks from an award-winning European maker will be incorporated into the 10-minute multimedia show.
The crowds will be entertained with a series of performance before the fireworks start. From around 10pm, a “Deco-Sphere” performance headlined by Australian performance group Strange Fruit will “warm up the crowds”, according to the Hong Kong Tourism Board. The “fusion of theatre, dance and circus” will take place at the Tsim Sha Tsui Pier near Star House.
From 11pm, a series of pyrotechnic performances featuring “shooting stars” every 15 minutes will keep the crowds entertained.
The fireworks extravaganza will begin at the stroke of midnight. Here’s where you can ring in 2018 in style:
Tosca

This year, patrons can tuck into a scrumptious eight-course black tie gala dinner, complemented with live band music on the side starting from 8pm.

Aqua

Our other favourite place to head over to on Kowloon side is Aqua, located right opposite the Wan Chai Convention Centre. Say hello to 2018 with a glass of Dom Perignon while nibbling on sushi and canapés at Aqua’s “Black & White Party”. Aqua’s resident DJ will keep the party going until sunrise.

Alto
Located on the 31st floor of V Point Tower in Causeway Bay, Alto is throwing a “Black and Gold Party”. Diners are treated to a four-course dinner before being ushered to the rooftop terrace to watch the fireworks at midnight.
