Just last week, the entertainment industry was shocked by the news from one of Exo’s members, Kim Jong-dae, better known as Chen.
The 27-year-old vocalist announced on Monday that he will marry his unknown girlfriend, prompting widespread rumours about the cause of this sudden decision. Who, then, is this elusive girlfriend? What do we actually know about Chen’s fiancée so far?
She is not a celebrity
As confirmed by SM Entertainment, Chen’s fiancée is not a celebrity or a well-known public figure, and the family has asked the public to respect their privacy.
The wedding will be held in a church, but the exact date, location and other details will not be disclosed. One thing the agency has denied firmly is the news that Chen has already married in secret on January 13.

Chen’s public declaration might have only stated that the happy couple received a sudden “blessing”, but that was enough to spark a pregnancy rumour. SM Entertainment haven’t confirmed this in an official statement – and ask fans to respect the privacy of a non-celebrity.
Could his fiancée be an ex-girlfriend?
Social media has gone into a frenzy since the news broke, with rampant, unsubstantiated speculation about who the fiancée is. Although no one has an answer, many are speculating it could be Chen’s ex-girlfriend, Mihee.
Who is this Mihee? Well, she might not be famous in showbiz, but she is quite popular on social media. Fans noticed her the first time when photos of the two appeared on the internet back in September 2016.
Afterwards, fans started to follow her Instagram and found some posts and comments possibly referring to Chen. The public even spotted them shopping in a jewellery store in 2018 – but then the media reported their break-up that year as well. Could they really be back together?
