DFS’s 11th edition of the Masters of Time exhibition in Macau curated an extraordinary 120-piece collection specially presented by era. Available until the end of this month (February), the collection runs from haute horology, evoking the artisanal spirit of the 19th century, to timepieces hinting at the innovations of tomorrow.
The Magic Lotus Automation by Jaquet Droz is one such watch exemplifying the exceptional workmanship prominent in the 19th century. Limited to 28 pieces, the automaton features an animation that runs more than four minutes.
In the category of fine jewellery is Montblanc’s The Legends of Zodiac the Rat Limited Edition 512 instrument. The zodiac animal and a calabash – or hulu, the Chinese ancient symbol of wealth and good health – are engraved on the 925 sterling silver cap. If there was ever a lucky pen for the new year, this would be it.
