The fact that we’re in a prolonged lockdown does not mean we should abandon all hope and forgo our health and fitness routines. Working up a sweat every day is obviously a great way to keep us svelt, on top of helping us put our heads above water. During these tough times, everybody wants to de-stress, and if rock-hard abs can be part of the plan, then why not!

Speaking of chiselled physiques, what’s better than fitness trainers? Well, celebrity fitness trainers, of course – simply because whatever they are doing must work if even the best of Hollywood A-listers look up to them for self-maintenance.

So with that, here are five top trainers to inspire your quarantine workouts.

1. Joe Holder

Peel your eyes away from the washboard abs and beautiful complexion of Joe Holder for a second so you can digest the fact that he trains Naomi Campbell. That’s right, Naomi Campbell – the world’s top supermodel known for her fiery temper as much as her success in fashion.

Apparently, Holder is one of the rare few who could tame the diva. Well, at least at the gym. Case in point: the 49-year-old would often credit her hot bod and renewed state of mind to Holder’s workout plans. So check out his Instagram page for some of those high-profile, fat-burning routines.

2. Luke Zocchi

It’s hard to look past Luke Zocchi’s sculpted physique and tattoos without a few gasps. So you’d be forgiven for drooling over your screen right now. If he looks familiar to you, that’s probably because he is Chris Hemsworth’s personal trainer and appears on the actor’s page every now and then.

But hitting the gym with Thor himself is not the only thing that this Australian trainer is great at. He is also the co-owner of eco-conscious coffee brand Sipp Instant and the author of The A-List Diet and Fitness Plan. A super-fit hunk who loves his flavours … now that’s a package. Just don’t forget to actually follow his workout drills while you’re on his case.

3. Magnus Lydback

Hard work pays off, as Magnus Lydback’s portfolio would show. If you don’t already know, this muscly Swedish fitness trainer was the guy responsible for Alicia Vikander’s eight packs you’ve seen – and coveted – in Tomb Raider (2018). Apparently his signature “Magnus Method” routines are gruelling, to say the least. Vikander had to stick to the plan for two months straight while also committing to a strict keto diet for her role as Lara Croft.

Besides effective workout tips and tricks, the dashing Lydback also has a knack for healthy cooking. Find yourself living the leaner life after you’ve emulated enough of his whole foods-based recipes to form lasting healthy eating habits.

4. Mary Helen Bowers

If graceful strength training is your thing, then you’ll love the “ballet-inspired” workouts that Mary Helen Bowers have to offer. The ballerina was hired to train Natalie Portman for the latter’s role as Nina Sayers in Black Swan (2010). Apparently, she also counts Lily Aldridge and Miranda Kerr among her A-list clientele.

Before approaching fitness the “barre” way, Bowers was a full-time professional ballerina, having trained with the New York City Ballet as a 16-year-old. She would later pursue her bachelor’s degree at Columbia University before founding her present fitness company, Ballet Beautiful.

5. Tracy Anderson

As Gwyneth Paltrow’s personal trainer and business partner, Tracy Anderson is not one to shy away from controversy. She has in the past received criticism for her low-carb take on weight loss that Paltrow’s apparently a big fan of. But murky headlines aside, there’s no denying that she is one of the best at getting other people to achieve their dream bodies.

These days, you will find Anderson on her best form yet as she guides you through her fat-busting drills from her online studio programmes. You can also work on reforming your wellness habits from within with her signature PER4MANCE Program.
