Canto-pop star Gillian Chung is officially off the market after announcing her engagement to boyfriend Michael Lai.
The 37-year-old Hong Kong-born singer shared the news on Instagram, with a picture of a diamond ring bearing the caption: “Next stop happiness!”
The couple are believed to have started dating in October last year. Chung says the 32-year-old Taiwanese doctor is the right one who can “make her feel loved”.
Chung stayed in Taipei for several months while filming a web drama called Tree In The River. Despite the long-distance relationship, the pair made an effort to value every moment they spent together.
It will be the second marriage for Michael Lai, who was married to blogger Ivy Chao for six months before they were divorced.

Charlene Choi, who is Chung’s compatriot in pop duo Twins, offered her heartfelt congratulations to the couple, posting three photos of the happy duo accompanied by the words “a thousand words in the heart.”
"This is the best gift for my lunar birthday”, Chung told her more than 20 million followers on Weibo and also shared a few pictures of the ring and many birthday cake. “Thank you for your love. Next station happiness.”
Joey Yung, Josie Ho and Sherman Chung were among the close friends to congratulate the Canto-pop star.
