Where: The Seine, Paris
Happenings: Chanel unveiled its fall/winter 2019 make-up collection, Noir et Blanc de Chanel, at the Galerie Courbe in the Grand Palais, Paris on July 11, followed by a cocktail party cruise on the River Seine.
Friends of the maison joined the launch party, including American actress Kristen Stewart, the face of the new collection and star of this year’s forthcoming Charlie’s Angels film. Model Stella Maxwell, who is rumoured to be dating Stewart, was also in attendance.
Other international guests included models Ji-Hye Park and Koki, actresses Phoebe Tonkin and Lea van Acken, actor Jerry Hoffman and singer Victoria Song. French ambassador for Chanel, Caroline de Maigret, also attended the launch party, along with other Parisian celebrities.
Lucia Pica, global creative make-up and colour designer, worked in collaboration with the Chanel Makeup Creation Studio to reinterpret founder Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel’s two favourite colours: black and white.
Taking a contemporary approach to the “power colours of Chanel”, the Noir et Blanc de Chanel collection offers creamy velvet eyeshadow quad palettes, a Rouge Coco Gloss in Lacque Noir, a waterproof graphic white liner and nail varnishes in pure black and pure white.
