If you are not already singing along to K-pop girl band sensation Red Velvet’s new song Zimzalabim, then you are missing out.

The five-piece girl group, consisting of members Irene, Wendy, Joy, Yeri and Seulgi, has been in Hong Kong as part of its brand ambassador duties to celebrate the first anniversary of the opening of The Shilla Duty Free’s Beauty & You, the one-stop beauty and fashion accessories shop at Hong Kong International Airport.

The group, which is also celebrating five years of success in the industry this year, was surprisingly genuine and down to earth while fielding questions from the media during the press conference.

The band, managed by SM Town Entertainment, made its debut in 2014 with only four members – Irene, Seulgi, Wendy and Joy – performing on its first single, Happiness. In 2015, Yeri joined the expanded group.

Fast forward to 2019 and Red Velvet has just wrapped up its North American tour – emphasising the growing appeal of K-pop in the West sparked by the global success of boy band BTS – after performing in front of thousands of fans in Los Angeles, Dallas, Newark, Miami and Chicago.
