Why: The Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton, "Roosevelt", is for those who feel right at home in a museum. Ideal for spacious homes, this ultimate predator dates back 72 to 65.5 million years.

It is named after former American president Franklin D. Roosevelt. The bones were collected from 2008 to 2014. The skull was unearthed from the Lance Creek Formation of northeastern Wyoming, and the other two fossils were unearthed from the Hell Creek Formation of eastern Montana, where a monumental hydroelectric dam project was constructed by the Army Corp of Engineers under Roosevelt's New Deal in 1940. Absent bones are replaced with high-quality replicas.

The display specimen is preserved in premium condition with a natural dark brown patina that is common to fossils recovered from iron-rich geological formations. All the segments come together nicely due to the similar conditions of the excavation sites' matrix - largely clay/mudstone. The fossils are put together in a dynamic posture to re-create the mighty power of the "Tyrant Lizard King".

The mounted specimen measures 11.6 metres long, 3.7 metres tall and 3 metres wide.
