Hong Kong fashion designer Barney Cheng put Apple’s new iPad Pro to the test

The well-known couturier, who dresses the likes of Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam, tries out the gadget, which Apple says is utterly different from previous models

The new iPad Pro comes with an array of new features in what Apple says is the “biggest change to iPad ever”.

A new all-screen design that features a Liquid Retina display with rounded corners and flat sides gives it an updated look that is oh-so-sleek.

It is available in two sizes, 11-inch and 12.9-inch, each with advanced two cameras: a 12MP back camera for stunning photos and 4K videos, while the 7MP TrueDepth front camera takes FaceTime and Portrait selfies to a whole other level.

But as a tool for creatives, we wanted to put this little piece of tech to the test.

Step in Hong Kong fashion designer Barney Cheng, who is best known for his qipao (or cheongsam)-inspired garments, and dresses the likes of Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam.

In an interview with STYLE, he compares the iPad Pro with the previous model, admires the new, much-improved Apple Pencil with its auto-pairing capability and magnetic attachment, and checks out the device’s built-in Animoji function.

Watch the video to find out what the couturier to the stars makes of it.
