Where to eat oysters in Singapore: 11 of the best seafood restaurants and bars for a slurping good feast

The best oysters in Singapore can be found at several top-notch places, from Angie’s Oyster Bar to Culina and Humpback, while some serve up delicious plates during happy hours

At The Black Swan in Singapore, choice oysters are priced from S$3, available on weekdays from 5 to 8pm.

You can find oysters just about everywhere. Forget the myth that you should only eat raw oysters in months ending with the letter “r”. That adage is centuries-old (according to The New York Times), dating back to 1599, when it appeared in an English cookbook.

Back then, there was no refrigeration, so oysters would spoil easily during spring and summer (months not ending with “r”). Plus, oysters typically spawn in warmer months, leaving them watery, soft and less flavourful.

But today, thankfully, oysters are farmed in optimum condition or fished and imported from cool-water locations. Plus, Singapore’s strict food laws and guidelines means that we can enjoy oysters throughout the year. Here’s where to slurp them by the dozens.

1. Angie’s Oyster Bar

We have to start with this sky-high seafood bar, where you can have a variety of oysters at just S$1++ (73 US cents) a pop and Prosecco at S$10++ from 6-8pm every night during happy hour while stocks last to ensure freshness. Another must-eat is the mussels and clams served five ways, three types of mac and cheese, butter lobster, lobster roll and Hokkaido Scallop Ceviche.
