Body of elderly man found floating off pier in Hong Kong but no suspicious circumstances, police say

The body of an elderly man was found floating in Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour on Saturday morning but police later found a suicide note at his home and said there were no suspicious circumstances.

At around 8am, residents reported to police that there was a body in the sea off North Point ferry pier.

Police arrived at the scene and confirmed the death of the 81-year-old man.

Officers later found a suicide note at his home in North Point.

After a preliminary investigation, it was believed that the death was not suspicious.

The cause of death will be determined after an autopsy.
