Indian man with temporary permit to stay in Hong Kong charged with murdering roommate

A 44-year-old man who holds a temporary permit to stay in Hong Kong has been charged with murdering his roommate, police said on Saturday.

The suspect, an Indian, was also arrested for possession of dangerous drugs after police found 159 grams of marijuana in their flat in Haiphong Mansion on Haiphong Road, Tsim Sha Tsui.

He was charged over the death of a 50-year-old Indian man, who was found unconscious in the flat on Thursday by four other roommates. The man, also a temporary permit holder, was confirmed dead at about noon that day.
