Three men were injured in a brawl outside a restaurant in Hong Kong in the early hours of Saturday.

Police officers and paramedics arrived at the Hoi Hing Restaurant on Tsing Ling Path in Tuen Mun after they received a report at 2.15am from a woman about a clash between two groups of patrons.

Police have classified the case as wounding, and detectives from the Tuen Mun police district’s anti-triad action group are handling the investigation. No arrests have been made yet.

A police spokesman said the incident started as an argument involving two groups of diners before someone summoned several people to join the fight, which then escalated into a brawl.

The three injured men, who were from the same group, were hit by hard objects including advertising billboards, iron racks and umbrellas, he added.

A 22-year-old surnamed Leung was unconscious and suffered a severe head wound, while a 41-year-old surnamed Chiu who worked at the restaurant sustained injuries to his forehead, shoulders, arms and legs. Another diner, 39, also had a forehead injury. The trio was sent to Tuen Mun Hospital.
