Hong Kong filmmaker Nick Cheuk Yik-him scooped the prize for best new director for his drama Time Still Turns the Pages at the Asian Film Awards on Sunday.

The socially conscious tale about family trauma and student suicides was nominated for three awards – best supporting actor, new director and editing.
