How to live stream White House Correspondents’ Dinner – unlike Donald Trump, who’s missing the show

Want to watch a live stream of the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner? Look no further than this page for the video – in which US President Donald Trump is expected to come in for a severe roasting.
Hosted by The Daily Show‘s Michelle Wolf, the dinner’s entertainment will feature political zingers – many likely to be directed at Trump, who has ducked out for a second year running – being read out to an audience of White House aides and reporters.
The event begins at 9.30pm EST (6.30pm PT, 9.30am HKT) and can be live streamed for free below.
This will be the second White House Correspondents’ Association dinner in a row without the president.
Trump posted on Facebook this past week that he would instead hold a Saturday evening rally in Michigan with his “favourite deplorables” – a term that Democrat Hillary Clinton used in 2016 to describe some of Trump’s campaign supporters.
The Washington dinner, which once attracted Oscar winners and buzzed-about stars, comes as Trump routinely slams reporters as dishonest and their work as “fake news”.
Wolf, who is likely to roast both the president and the press, told CBS’ This Morning Saturday that “I like making fun of people to their face ... more than behind their backs, so it would have been more fun [if Trump were in the audience]”.
“None of my jokes changed. It’s just nicer to make fun of them when they’re there. I think it’s cowardly not to go.”

Trump’s aides skipped last year’s dinner, hosted by Hasan Minhaj, also of The Daily Show. That year, some accompanied Trump to a rally in Pennsylvania where he celebrated his 100th day in office.
This year, however, even with Trump out of town, many White House aides were expected to hobnob with the journalists who cover them.
In 2017, Trump became the first president to skip the event since Ronald Reagan in 1981; Reagan was recovering from an assassination attempt, but still phoned in a message to the show.
In 2011, Trump was the subject of mockery by then-President Barack Obama, who poked fun at the businessman’s claim that he was actually Kenyan, and his demands that Obama release his birth certificate.
Trump, meanwhile, is betting on a large crowd and a friendly reception at a Saturday evening rally in Michigan – one of the states in the Upper Midwest that Hillary Clinton counted on in 2016 but saw slip away.
In fact, he was the first Republican presidential nominee to capture Michigan since George H.W. Bush in 1988.
“Look forward to being in the Great State of Michigan tonight,” Trump said in a tweet hours before the event in Washington Township.
He also tweeted: “Major business expansion and jobs pouring into your State. Auto companies expanding at record pace. Big crowd tonight, will be live on TV.”
