Macau’s Yamazato is a specialist in kaiseki Japanese haute cuisine
The eatery has an extensive menu featuring traditional Japanese favourites, such as tempura and wagyu beef
This Japanese restaurant specialises in exquisite kaiseki sets prepared by executive chef Akira Hayashi. The Zen garden-like space boasts views across the Cotai Strip, but all eyes will be on creatively presented dishes, such as sashimi served under an ice dome and a single black bean decorated with gold flakes.
The menu features traditional Japanese favourites, including tempura and wagyu beef, but the highlight is the kaiseki ryōri sets, the only restaurant in Macau that specialises in the Kyoto cuisine known for its subtle flavours, seasonal ingredients and order of courses determined by the cooking method of each dish. Sake fans are in for a treat.
