US boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather Jnr has hardly been troubled in the ring in a phenomenal career that has seen him amass a perfect 50-0 record. Not once has the 42-year-old been knocked down let alone knocked out, but he didn’t have it his way in a different sport – on the basketball court that is.

Surrounded by past and present sports legends from different sports, “Money” didn’t really cut it playing hoops and he was embarrassingly dropped by a player he shouldn’t have been messing around with in the first place.

Just days after Moneyweather was flaunting his wealth yet again, last week flashing a whopping US$1.8 million in US$100 notes spread across his bed in a video posted on Instagram, Mayweather was back in the limelight, but this time he was put in his place.

During a D-Up for basketball charity event at UCLA in Los Angeles on Monday night, “Money” tried to D-Up ... or guard ... a streetball legend and it didn’t go down well. One of the world’s most famous boxers ever ended up on his backside while trying to guard a player who isn’t called the “Bone Collector” for nothing. And to add insult to injury, Larry Williams aka “The Bone Collector” finished off his shot with a three-pointer over Mayweather’s prone body to the delight of the crowd.

“Money ... You don’t have to do this to yourself!” warned the public commentator as Mayweather stoutly tries to guard one of the best streetball legends around. Mayweather tries to stop him but is outmuscled and outhustled. Then the fall that saw him slide across the court. “I told you! I told you!” added the commentator as the crowd roared.

Mayweather was participating in the charity game, captaining a team of celebrities against another team of celebs skippered by retired NFL great Rob Gronkowski.

Mayweather took it all in his stride. The game was afterall for charity and they managed to raise US$50,000.

“Everybody who participated in this event can’t be beat,” said Mayweather after the game.
