Hong Kong’s men’s lacrosse team will face hosts South Korea in the third place play-off at the Asia-Pacific Championship after Scott Browning’s side beat Taiwan 10-2 on Thursday to record a third win in five games on Jeju island.

Browning’s side added to earlier wins over China and South Korea in Seogwipo, while Hong Kong also lost to regional heavyweights Japan and Australia.

Hong Kong opened their campaign with a 19-2 win over China, and after losing to Japan and Australia, Browning’s side bounced back to beat South Korea 12-4 on Wednesday.

“We are looking forward to our game tomorrow against Korea as they will again play us hard,” said Browning ahead of Friday’s play-off against the hosts. “We are looking to come out on top and it will take hard work.”

Hong Kong’s women’s team also wrapped up their group stage campaign on Thursday with a 16-2 loss to Australia and will face the combined ASPAC United side for fifth place on Friday.
