Hong Kong’s Ng On-yee continued her winning form this year after reaching the final of the Paul Hunter Women’s Classic in Nuremburg, Germany.

The reigning world champion, along with world number one Reanne Evans of England, were both seeded into the round of 16 without playing in the group stage.

Ng made all the way through to the last four without dropping a frame until she met compatriot So Man-yan for a tough battle but the Hong Kong number one still prevailed following a narrow 4-3 victory in the semi-final to set up the title clash against Evans.

Evans also showed tremendous form in Germany by winning all three of her matches in the amateur qualifying rounds of the Paul Hunter Classic to reach the professional stages where she was stopped by world number 73 Zhao Xintong of China.

But the English player could still be the favourite back in the women’s event as Evans has scored the top two breaks of the tournament with 67 and 58 respectively. Ng’s highest break is 47. Evans came back from 2-0 down against fellow English player Rebecca Kenna before taking four frames in a row to win 4-2 in the other semi-final.
