There may be changes to come for Tai Po in the off-season, the futures of coach Lee Chi-kin and star player Igor Sartori are yet to be decided, and there is also the small matter of finishing their debut AFC Cup campaign – where they can beat Kitchee to second spot in the group and cement local bragging rights over the summer.

The club will be back on that stage in 2020, a spot guaranteed by winning the HKPL title for a first time. In doing so they also became the first side outside of Kitchee and Eastern to win the trophy since it was rebranded ahead of the 2014-15 season and the first time since South China in 2013 to break up the duo’s recent domestic dominance.
