Joanna Jedrzejczyk has broken her silence following Saturday night’s brutal five-round war with Zhang Weili.

Strawweight champion Zhang narrowly retained her title in a split decision loss at UFC 248. She ended the fight with a huge hematoma on her forehead and a busted nose.

She was discharged from hospital with no significant injuries according to her team.

“Doesn’t matter what’s happening in my life. WIN or LOSE UP or DOWN I am grateful every single day and night!” she wrote in an Instagram post.

“Grateful for the life I get to live, grateful for the people I’m surrounded by, and grateful for all the beautiful moments. I know I am lucky, and I am thankful.”

Jedrzejczyk appeared to be taking a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon on Monday to lift her spirits.

“Thank you for making me so happy today!” she wrote to her management team, the Ballengee Group, in her Instagram story, over a video of her inside the helicopter.

The UFC 248 co-main has been widely praised as one of the greatest fights in MMA history, but UFC president Dana White played down the idea of a rematch any time soon.

“Did you see what those two girls looked like after that fight? They’re both in the hospital right now,” he said. “They did not go to a press conference, they did not talk to press, they went straight to a hospital. They need to go home, take some time to heal up and rest before I even mention a fight with either one of them again.”
