Conor McGregor seems to have a knack in getting himself in trouble these days with his lawyers working overtime to keep him out of jail after his latest brush with the law.

Only days after settling a legal dispute with a fan, the MMA superstar was back in the spotlight after a reported brawl with a man in a Dublin bar last weekend.

The Irish police confirmed that there was an altercation in the Marble Arch pub in Drimnagh, but no arrests had been made, although the case is being investigated.

According to the Irish Mirror, a drunken bar patron confronted McGregor and taunted him over his loss against Khabib Nurmagomedov in his UFC lightweight title fight last year.

A source told the Irish Mirror that McGregor was being a “show off” in the pub and the man didn’t like it, with another source saying the man told the Irish fighter, “the Russian battered you” before McGregor became aggressive.

The Irish Mirror reported that “there was a bit of a commotion, he [McGregor] was acting the mick and there was an incident”.

“There weren’t many people in the bar at the time, there was drink involved,” according to the Irish Mirror. “The man that was allegedly assaulted is from Ballyfermot and drinks in the pub a good bit.”

“Gardai [Irish police] are investigating an incident at a pub in Drimnagh, Dublin on April 6, 2019.

“No arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing.”

The controversy is the latest for the fading MMA superstar. Recently, the 30-year-old McGregor, who last month said he was retiring from fighting only to say that he wasn’t, settled legal matters with a fan over a phone-smashing incident outside a Miami nightclub.

McGregor allegedly grabbed the fan’s phone and smashed it to the ground after the person tried to take photos of him and his entourage entering the nightclub.

The lawsuit has been settled with the fan reportedly awarded US$15,000 in damages. However, “Notorious” still faces charges of strong-armed robbery and misdemeanour criminal mischief.

Last year, McGregor faced serious charges after he attacked a bus carrying UFC fighters in New York at a media event and was sentenced to undergo anger management and community service.

He was also under investigation for an alleged sexual assault in Ireland last December.

The troubled Irishman, who has not fought since losing to Nurmagomedov in Las Vegas last October, has also come under fire for insulting Nurmagomedov’s wife, who is Muslim, on their wedding day in a tweet.

Poking fun at Khabib’s wife wearing a veil covering her face, McGregor captioned the photo: “Your wife is a towel mate.” Nurmagomedov hit back at McGregor by calling him a “rapist” in a tweet.
