SCMP and RTHK present Hong Kong's Top Story 2014

South China Morning Post and RTHK are hosting their 4th annual Top Story competition for all creative writers in our city. 

Write a short story about this year’s theme, 'REBORN'.

The competition starts on 22 September 2014 and there are great prizes to be won! So put your thinking cap on, flex your writing muscles and show us your best materials.  

Closing date for entries is 21 November, 2014 (Friday).

Junior: Hong Kong residents aged 12 – 17
Adult: Hong Kong residents aged 18 or above

2nd prize:

15 books selected by Pan Macmillan

3rd prize:

10 books selected by Pan Macmillan

Most Creative Award:

5 books selected by Pan Macmillan

Terms and Conditions

1. All submitted stories must:

Have 'Reborn' as the theme, and be written in English by Hong Kong residents.
Be an original, previously unpublished work written by the applicant.
Be relevant to Hong Kong by way of subject matter, characters or setting.
Be between 1,500 and 2,000 words.
Not defame any living person, corporate body, infringe or breach any rights of copyright.
2. By submitting an entry, participant agrees to the publication/broadcast of their work by both RTHK and South China Morning Post.
3. Competition is not open to SCMP and RTHK staff or their immediate family members.
4. All personal data provided will be used for the competition only and will be destroyed within one month after the official presentation of prizes to the winners.
5. Judges will be from RTHK and South China Morning Post.
6. Judges' decision is final.
7. Winners will be announced in December, 2014.
