Pick of the homes on the market this week are in Providence Peak, Phase Two of the Providence Bay development, and Palm Springs in Yuen Long

Tai Po has plenty going for it, from country parks to residential and commercial areas. The district has changed over the years and is now home to the middle class and the affluent.

There are numerous small villages scattered from Tai Mei Tuk, an area around Plover Cove Reservoir, to Tai Po Old Market and Tai Wo town.

After several years of development, there are exclusive homes, such as The Beverly Hills and Providence Bay. Tai Po is modern, yet it retains its historical past and charming countryside.

Exclusive townhouses and low rises are located behind Tolo Highway, enjoying magnificent views of Tolo Harbour. Lately, Tai Mei Tuk, has become a favourite of developers, who are building luxury housing in the area.

A superb home on the market this week is situated in Providence Peak, Phase Two of the Providence Bay development. The home’s gross floor area is 2,025 sq ft and the saleable area is 1,522 sq ft. The owner is asking for HK$22 million and the home is marketed by Centaline Property Agency. Penny Leung, the agent in charge of the sale, says the property is lavishly decorated, and is worth the asking price.

The second home worth considering is in Palm Springs in Yuen Long. The house is located on Kapok Path and comprises three storeys with two car park spaces, and the owner is asking HK$9 million. The property has a new look and is decorated, according to agent Hinton Yeung of Midland Realty. Yeung says that the property was used as a resort venue during holidays, and the purchaser can move in immediately once a deal has been completed. With three rooms and an en suite partition, the house also contains one small garden and an open-plan kitchen.

The gross floor area of the unit is 1,442 sq ft and the saleable floor area is 1,017 sq ft.

The agent stresses that the house is located in an ideal spot as it provides good security. It also offers convenient transport because there is a village bus station nearby. This house is extremely rare as only two to three properties with the same construction planning have been released into the market.
