The Mayfair has an enormous living and dining room.

Luxury homes on Hong Kong Island offer privacy, and a break from rigours of city life

The Mayfair is ideal for those who treasure peace and quiet, and stunning views, while Starcrest suits families with children

For those who value peace and quiet, and appreciate spectacular views, The Mayfair at 1 May Road, Mid-Levels, is ideal. Hong Kong Sotheby’s International Realty is marketing a three-bedroom home with a 2,118 sq ft saleable area that comes with a covered parking space. The price is available on request.

According to Jordan Ma, the sales agent at Sotheby’s, the flat has an enormous living and dining room, boasting a high ceiling and full-length windows across one wall. It has been tastefully decorated by the owner, with light marble flooring, chandeliers, custom-made fixtures and roll-down blinds.

The family room is well decorated and fully exposed to sunlight and views, and is perfect for gatherings and entertaining.

Ma says that the third bedroom has been converted into an office with fitted desk and a multipurpose bed.

Elsewhere, Starcrest is located in a quiet part of Wan Chai, a short walk from Pacific Place 3 and Admiralty MTR station. Developed by Swire Properties, homes at Starcrest are spacious and especially suited for families with children.

Numerous authentic restaurants and shops can be found near Star Street, which is regarded as a trendy area. Landscope-Christie’s is marketing a flat, with 1,510 sq ft of saleable area. The duplex apartment is priced at HK$59 million, has two bedrooms, including two en suites, and enjoys city views. According to the agent Teresa Lau, it offers great value for money as it is more reasonably priced than similar apartments in the area.
