Tender deadline for a West Rail site extended to Thursday due to rainstorm

The tender deadline for a large residential site in Yuen Long has been extended to Thursday owing to the black rainstorm warning, according to MTR Corp.

The tender for the first phase of residential development at West Rail’s Kam Sheung Road Station was originally planned to close at 2pm on Wednesday.

MTR Corp, acting as the agent for West Rail, said the tender deadline will be changed to 2pm on May 25, according to the tender document.

The site, which could potentially provide a total floor area of 1.24 million square feet, is estimated to fetch up to HK$6.2 billion, or HK$5,000 per square foot.
The site will provide 1,652 flats, of which 40 per cent, or 661 units, will be less than 538 sq ft. The project is slated for completion in 2025.

Separately, stock trading continues as normal, according to the Hong Kong stock exchange.
