Wuzhizhou Island, opposite Haitang Bay, is gaining popularity as a tourist attraction on Hainan Island, and a side trip for groups staying at the luxury resorts in Sanya.

Covering an area of 1.48 square kilometres (0.57 square miles) with a 5.7km (3.5 mile) coastline, the island is known for its exquisite scenery, clear water and natural marine resources. Surrounded by pristine beaches and beautiful coral reefs, the island is a paradise for diving and other water sports. Sightseeing spots include the Lover bridge, sea-viewing corridor, Mazu temple and flower gallery.

Other activities include sea angling offered by the Wuzhizhou Island Sea Angling Club, and an around-the-island tour on battery cart to enjoy the natural beauty. The Coral Hotel provides 200 standard rooms, log cabins and holiday villas. The hotel offers Chinese food, buffet, Japanese cuisine and seafood barbecue.

The Sanya Wuzhizhou Island Tourist Area, which manages the holiday island, is offering a number of tour packages.
