Dynasty in Hong Kong serves up excellent Cantonese fare in authentic Chinese surroundings
Overlooking Victoria Harbour, this recently-renovated eatery remains popular with celebrities and the business elite
Known as a “tycoon’s canteen” to celebrities and the business elite, Dynasty underwent an extensive renovation a few years ago. With the backdrop of Victoria Harbour, the dining area is reminiscent of a grand Xiguan Mansion, featuring grey marble bricks, carved wooden doors, stained glass windows and Chinese artefacts and motifs. Dynasty has always been known for its excellent Cantonese fare, and the executive chef Suen Kam-sing re-creates signatures, such as char siu, deep-fried fresh mud crab claw with five spice and chilli. He has also created new dishes such as deep-fried lobster in home-made sauce with a deep-fried bun.
