Chinese seasonal favourites hit the spot at Howard’s Gourmet Workshop in Hong Kong
Enjoy delicately-flavoured dishes in elegant surroundings at this popular restaurant, and perhaps indulge in a dram of Cai’s own brand of whisky at the bar
Guangzhou-based food and drink aficionado Howard Cai is famed for bringing out the natural flavours in Chinese food. Cai has garnered a celebrity following since establishing Howard’s Gourmet Workshop in Guangzhou 12 years ago.
The interior, by David Tang, is elegantly done with high ceilings, heavy drapes, carpeting, leather seats and crystal chandeliers. The dishes are elegantly presented with delicate flavours such as the crispy sea cucumber, hot and sour noodles and the Chinese sausage with cheese. There are only set lunch and dinner menus, from which dishes are seasonal. There is a bar with Cai’s own brand of whisky.
