Unbeaten "Wonder Kid" Rex Tso Sing-yu has started the new year as a married man. Now he's chasing a world title to complete his wish list.

The 27-year-old Hong Kong fighter, who is hoping for a world title elimination bout on March 7 in Macau, married long-time girlfriend Candy Wu and held a low-key wedding reception at a hotel in Mong Kok over the weekend.

Tso also has another person in his life: Jake Verano, his new trainer, who he hopes will help him realise his dream of securing a world title by the middle of this year. Filipino ex-boxer Verano and Tso will begin their journey together on Wednesday at the new DEF Boxing gym in Sheung Wan when Tso begins training for the first time this year.

Verano replaces sacked Filipino trainer Aljoe Jaro, who was told his services were no longer required after Tso won his 15th straight professional victory against Indonesian Espinos Sabu on the undercard of the Clash in Cotai II featuring Manny Pacquiao in November.

Rex said married life would "settle his life" and help him become a better boxer.

"Getting married is actually good for me because I will be able to focus more on my fights. I always wanted to settle down. I decided to get married six months ago and we had been dating for 51/2 years.

"It's a good turning point in my life. I really appreciate what my wife has done for me," said Tso, who is 15-0-0 with nine knockouts.
