Shandong Luneng’s Jin Jingdao provisionally banned after positive doping test after AFC Champions League quarter-final
The banned steroid clenbuterol was found after the Chinese Super League side lost 3-1 to Korea Republic’s FC Seoul last month
Chinese Super League player Jin Jingdao has been provisionally suspended after a positive doping test during the AFC Champions League quarter-finals, according to the Asian Football Confederation.
The AFC said in a statement late on Friday that Shandong Luneng player Jin tested positive for clenbuterol before the match against FC Seoul on August 23, a match Seoul won 3-1. Clenbuterol, a steroid, is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
It said Jin is banned from taking part in any football-related activity for 60 days, and the ban can be further extended by 30 days. Jin will have the right to request testing of his “B’’ sample.
The AFC said the Chinese Football Association and Shandong Luneng have been notified of the suspension.
