Hong Kong’s Chow Kin-wan sees dream come true as he earns place in Korea's pro basketball league
The 1.94-metre forward fulfils his dream of playing professionally in Korea after being chosen by Ulsan Mobis Phoebus
Chow Kin-wan became the first player from Hong Kong to be drafted into the Korean Basketball League after the 26-year-old was yesterday picked by Ulsan Mobis Phoebus, one of 10 pro teams in South Korea.
The former South China player went to Seoul five years ago to continue his studies and to try to break into the Korean league and his dream finally came true after he was the last player to make the draft yesterday.
At 1.94 metres, Chow was a central forward for the Caroliners and played at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games for Hong Kong. He also helped South China clinch the Senior Shield trophy in 2013 and occasionally returned to Hong Kong to play for the club.
Chow has a Korean mother and is therefore eligible to play in the country.
