England’s Chris Jordan and West Indies’ Rayad Emrit joins City Kaitak for Hong Kong T20 Blitz

The pair will link up with Sri Lanka’s Tillakaratne Dilshan in the line-up for the March 8-12 tournament

England fast bowler Chris Jordan and West Indian all-rounder Rayad Emrit have been signed up by City Kaitak for the DTC Hong Kong T20 Blitz next month.

The pair will link up with Sri Lankan T20 specialist Tillakaratne Dilshan in what should be a strong City Kaitak team for the March 8-12 tournament at Tin Kwong Road.

“I am really excited to be taking part in the Hong Kong T20 Blitz this year. As soon as I spoke to City Kaitak, I was sure I wanted to take part and I can’t wait to join up with the team,” said Jordan.

“Playing for any team in T20 is always a lot of fun and exciting but I am especially excited about joining up with City Kaitak and to play cricket in Hong Kong for the first time”.

Born in Barbados, Jordan was a right-arm fast bowling prospect who shifted base to Dulwich College after obtaining a sporting scholarship. At 18 years old, he was already making his way into the Surrey playing XI against Middlesex in 2007.

He was eligible to play for England and West Indies but he chose the former with his grandmother’s roots and made his international debut against Australia in the final ODI of the five-match series in 2013.

He won an IPL contract with Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2016. Jordan’s ability to strike a long ball made him dangerous as a lower-order batsman and he added a maiden Championship hundred to his list in 2016 for Sussex.

Emrit has played a pivotal role for Trinidad and Tobago winning back to back titles in 2015 and 2016 in the prestigious Caribbean Premier League. He carried the same form and performed brilliantly for his franchise in the Bangladesh Premier league.

At 35, he is an experienced all-rounder with his aggressive batting and reliable right-arm medium-fast bowling.
