Cheung’s incredible run in this year's event saw him beat some of the best in the world, now, he is the best.
If winning a gold medal wasn’t enough to change your life, Cheung has also earned HK$5 million (US$640,000) in prize money from a government incentive scheme. In addition, the MTR Corporation, the city’s rail operator, has announced he will receive free rides for life. The rest of the Hong Kong delegation have been awarded free passes for a year.
