A week after a video of him emotionally discussing his struggles with free agency went viral, Jeremy Lin has defended his actions in Shanghai.

According to a report by Diamond Leung in The Athletic sports website, Lin brought up the tearful video during his hour-long talk with the Harvard Business School community during the Shanghai stop of his Asia tour.

“I think showing weakness is one of the greatest signs of strength,” Lin said.

“Ironically, to be able to be OK with your weakness is one of the strongest things you could do. Who doesn’t have weaknesses? We all do. But to show them is one of the strongest things you can do.”

Lin was captured crying as he discussed the struggles of being without an NBA team on Taiwanese Christian television channel Good TV last week.

He described his current period of free agency as “rock bottom” and said he felt the NBA had given up on him.
