Jeremy Lin’s double-double not enough as Beijing Ducks lose to table-topping Southern Tigers
- The 31-year-old Lin dropped 26 points with 10 boards and three dimes in an early team blitz
- Former NBA stars Brooks and Yi help Tigers to 93-78 win in Beijing
Jeremy Lin's double-double was not enough as his Beijing Ducks fell 93-78 to Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league leaders Guangdong Southern Tigers on Sunday.
Former NBA star Lin dropped 26 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, sinking four-of-five from deep at the Wukesong Arena.
Lin's early scoring blitz helped the Ducks take the lead at half-time before the Tigers reverted to their usual high-scoring selves.
The 31-year-old Taiwanese-American posted several game highlights onto his Instagram story with the caption “Hao qiu”, which is Pinyin for good ball.
Fellow Ducks star Justin Hamilton helped with 25 points and grabbed a game-high 17 board but it was not enough for in-form Tigers.
Former Boston Celtics guard Marshon Brooks scored 27 points with 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals for the Tigers, while former Milwaukee Bucks and five-time CBA champion Yi Jianlian helped with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The Guangdong outfit sit joint-top having only lost one of 11 games this season.
The Ducks drop to fifth place – three points behind the leading Tigers – and are now 8-and-4 for the season. They play 5-and-7 Guangzhou Long Lions away on Tuesday.
