The Cleveland Cavaliers considered adding Jeremy Lin to their NBA roster before signing Yogi Ferrell, according to reports.
“It was shortly after last Monday’s game in Orlando when the Cavs connected with Ferrell’s agent, letting him know to be ready,” wrote Chris Fedor for Cleveland.com, after Ferrell’s first NBA game since August, a 101-91 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
“Ferrell, who hadn’t played 5-on-5 basketball with NBA-calibre players in five months, was one of a handful of free-agent point guards considered. Jeremy Lin, Frank Mason, Emmanuel Mudiay and Shabazz Napier were the others.”

Lin officially signed for the Santa Cruz Warriors, the Golden State Warriors’ G League affiliate, last Saturday.
That was the day after he announced to Chinese fans that he would be moving to the NBA development league rather than returning to the Beijing Ducks in the Chinese Basketball Association, where he played last season.
