NBA veteran Jeremy Lin has given fans their first glimpse inside the G League bubble after he and his new Santa Cruz Warriors teammates arrived at Walt Disney World near Orlando, Florida. The G League will take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports at the tourist resort, using the same bubble as the NBA did to finish last season. Lin made the move from Santa Cruz where he had spent a week in isolation for another three days of quarantine at the resort before training with his new team ahead of their season opener against the G League Ignite on February 10. In videos shared to TikTok and Douyin, the Chinese-language version of the app, Lin gave his followers a tour of his room, showing them two beds, his training equipment and a laptop where he plays DOTA. #SeaDubs touched down in Orlando yesterday pic.twitter.com/CWi6vLkXRq — Santa Cruz Warriors (@GLeagueWarriors) January 28, 2021 The 32-year-old also showed several pairs of his signature JLIN ONE shoes under his hotel room bed and in another video released this weekend he spoke of his first shoe. Elsewhere, Bleacher Report Kicks released an “Unboxed” video with Lin speaking about the shoe, which is the first signature shoe for an Asian-American basketball player. Jeremy Lin says faith kept NBA dream alive, gives US$200,000 grants “A year and a half ago I was a shoe free agent and at that time I knew I wanted to do something different. At that time I had not even heard of the company Xtep,” Lin said of the Chinese sportswear manufacturer. “They had never done basketball before and for me that was really, really intriguing to be able to create something brand new.” Lin signed with Xtep in August 2019 ahead of signing with the Ducks in the Chinese Basketball Association and his first signature shoe came out a year later, six months earlier than the normal process, Lin said. “After 11 years of professional basketball, I finally have my own signature shoe. At one point it just really looked like I was never going to have my signature shoe. “Waiting 11 years, I might be the oldest player to ever have their first signature shoe and I’m the first Asian-American to have their first signature basketball shoe.” Earlier in the week, Lin had shared videos of his life in quarantine in Santa Cruz. This included training with weights, cardio work with and without the ball, reading and playing DOTA with his friends. Quarantine a ‘bit annoying’ says Lin as he trains for G League He had also shown fans his diet ahead of the new season. “Why do I need to eat healthy? If I don’t eat healthy not only will these foods make my body fatter, but also my knees and my waist will be swollen so what I eat is very, very important.” Lin showed fans his sugar-free sodas, healthy sauces and snacks, as well as what he threw away from the meals served to him in quarantine.
