Santa Cruz Warriors star Jeremy Lin ’s hopes of an NBA return faltered again as his team failed to impress in a second consecutive G League loss on Friday night in Florida. The NBA veteran was unable to help his team overcome the Delaware Blue Coats, losing 104-93 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World. Lin put up 18 points in Santa Cruz’s opening loss to the G League Ignite on Wednesday but only scored seven in his second game, taking just 10 shots. That included one three-pointer, from four attempts, meaning his charity “3s for Hope” campaign gets another donation. Team top scorer Nico Mannion, who hit 22 points, had eight of the Warriors’ 26 turnovers. Lin loses G League opener as Ignite make Warriors pay Santa Cruz went on a 22-3 run in the third quarter to cut a 24-point gap but it was not enough. They get a chance for a first win of the 15-game season when they play again on Saturday, US time, meeting the Westchester Knicks.
