Santa Cruz Warriors star Jeremy Lin sat out a second G League game in a row on Monday night, but rather than casting doubt over his NBA comeback fans are speculating that it means the veteran has an NBA contract.

Lin can sign an NBA 10-day contract on Tuesday (US time), with his supporters suggesting on social media that the 32-year-old has sat out successive Santa Cruz games to avoid risking an actual injury.

He was officially listed as missing from the game with a back issue, just like when he missed games against the Canton Charge and Salt Lake City Stars last week.

Without Lin the Warriors won 129-90 over the Agua Caliente Clippers to make it four wins in a row. They are 5-3 for the season and in the play-off hunt.

It has long been speculated that any NBA comeback would be with the Golden State Warriors, the NBA affiliate of the Santa Cruz team and Lin’s first NBA team.
