Santa Cruz Warriors star Jeremy Lin sat out a second G League game in a row on Monday night, but rather than casting doubt over his NBA comeback fans are speculating that it means the veteran has an NBA contract. Lin can sign an NBA 10-day contract on Tuesday (US time), with his supporters suggesting on social media that the 32-year-old has sat out successive Santa Cruz games to avoid risking an actual injury. He was officially listed as missing from the game with a back issue, just like when he missed games against the Canton Charge and Salt Lake City Stars last week. Without Lin the Warriors won 129-90 over the Agua Caliente Clippers to make it four wins in a row. They are 5-3 for the season and in the play-off hunt. That expectation has increased as the Warriors are set to waive guard Brad Wanamaker, as per reports from NBA journalist Shams Charania. Jeremy Lin’s bad back should not stop his NBA comeback While that would free up a roster spot at the Warriors, Lin is free to sign with any NBA team. Lin has not played in the NBA since the 2018-2019 season when he won the championship with the Toronto Raptors. He spent last season in the Chinese Basketball Association with the Beijing Ducks before returning to the US for his NBA comeback. He signed for the G League team to prove his fitness to NBA teams.
