Even the shortest possible turnaround time was not able to deny Hong Kong Eastern a win on Sunday at the 2023 Asean Basketball League (ABL).

The 2017 champions eased past Indonesian side Louvre Surabaya – one of the four new ABL teams this season – 101-50 at the OCBC Arena to wrap up the four-game stop in Singapore.

The win lifted Eastern to their fourth win in as many games, as the Hong Kong franchise remained one of the two teams – alongside Vietnamese side Saigon Heat – to boast a 100 per cent record.

Following the late fixture on Saturday night – in which Eastern defeated host team Singapore Slingers 68-52 – the Hong Kong franchise only had 16 hours before Sunday’s early tip-off at 4pm. But there was no stopping them.

Facing Louvre Surabaya, who were torn apart by Saigon Heat in a 108-47 blowout on Saturday, Eastern jumped to a solid double-digit lead early in the opening quarter.
