Asean Basketball League: Eastern bounce back with 45-point rout of Louvre Surabaya
- Hong Kong side back to winning ways, shooting 58 per cent from the field en route to an easy win on Saturday.
- O’Darien Bassett finishes with a game-high 19 points, despite only playing in first half
Hong Kong Eastern bounced back from their disappointing loss last time out with a 109-64 rout of Louvre Surabaya in the Asean Basketball League (ABL) on Saturday night.
The win sealed a home and away double over the Indonesian side this season, and cemented Eastern’s position at the top of the league ahead of Sunday’s clash with the Saigon Heat.
The Hong Kong franchise surrendered their perfect record this season in a 71-67 loss to the Macau Black Bears on Thursday night.
But there was no repeat of that under-par performance at the Hi-Test Arena in Batam.
O’Darien Bassett – who had the luxury of sitting out last Sunday’s 101-51 blowout of Louvre Surabaya – was on form right from the start.
The American import knocked down two from long range to chip in 10 points as Eastern led 21-17 after the opening quarter.
