NBA star Damian Lillard has returned to Hong Kong, and he believes LeBron James will return for another season despite the Los Angeles Lakers ace saying he is considering retirement.
James completed his 20th NBA season by suffering an unceremonious thrashing in last month’s Western Conference finals by the Denver Nuggets, who now stand on the brink of the championship.

Speaking exclusively to the Post, Lillard doubted James would walk away from the game just yet, before attending a community event with local players at the Tung Wah Group Of Hospitals’ Holistic Centre for Youth Development – also known as Tung Po.

“It was a surprise when I heard about it, but I do not believe that,” the Portland Trail Blazers point guard said in San Po Kong on Friday night.

The seven-time NBA All-Star, who last visited Hong Kong in 2017, suggested that even if James should call it quits, the next face of the league “hasn’t appeared yet”.

“There are a lot of candidates for it, there are a lot of guys that could be,” Lillard said. “But I think it is going to take some time for them to really emerge.
