Manny Pacquiao’s body has ‘freakish’ ability to recover and he eats 7,000 calories per day
- Filipino senator has a ‘ridiculous’ metabolism, says strength and conditioning coach Justin Fortune
- ‘His diet has never been a concern, he eats clean almost every meal’

Manny Pacquiao’s body has a “freakish” ability to recover with a “ridiculous” metabolism that helps him burn 7,000 calories a day, according to his strength and conditioning coach Justin Fortune.
The 40-year-old is in Los Angeles training for his fight against unbeaten American Keith Thurman at the MGM Grand on July 20 and is looking in incredible shape.
“He’s a lucky SOB,” Fortune told Yahoo Sports.
Fortune said the fighting Filipino senator eats a clean diet nearly all of the time – mostly Filipino dishes accompanied by a lot of white rice, including steak, chicken kebabs, chicken and beef tinola broth, as well as bananas and dried squid.

To keep his weight up, Pacquiao eats 7,000 calories or more a day because he burns so much, Fortune said. Pacquiao is around 150 pounds right now, with the limit of the fight against Thurman set at 147lbs.
