Manny Pacquiao has compared his longevity in the boxing ring to Tom Brady’s staying power at the top of American football as he gets ready for his third title fight in 12 months at the age of 40.

The Filipino icon challenges for Keith Thurman’s WBA super welterweight crown on July 20 in Las Vegas, taking on an opponent 10 years younger than him.

The unbeaten American has mocked Pacquiao for his age and told him to “go play basketball” because “he doesn’t have much time left”. But “Pacman” feels he has an advantage.

“If you were a coach of [an NFL] team and you had to win one game, who would you want to be the quarterback?” he told Yahoo Sports. “Why is Tom Brady still winning [the Super Bowl] if he’s so old?”
