Floyd Mayweather vows to go ‘all-out’ to help China win medals at the Tokyo Olympics
- The unbeaten American ‘will use his influence and resources to support Chinese boxing project’ as he joins forces with Chinese Boxing Federation
- ‘Money’ was in Hong Kong and China recently to promote his TMT brand

US boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather Jnr has been named a special adviser to the Chinese Boxing Federation as the country looks to improve on their medal count at next year’s Tokyo Olympics.
Mayweather has travelled to Hong Kong and Chengdu, Sichuan on the mainland in recent weeks to promote his TMT brand and it was probably during these trips that he made an agreement to help out the Chinese Boxing Federation in their efforts to improve their medal hopes.

Boxing was once banned in China for 27 years before the ban was lifted in the 1980s and the mainland has gone on to score major successes at the Games, primarily through local hero Zou Shiming, who won gold at the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympics.
Zou won the first boxing medal at the Olympics for China at the 2004 Athens Games, a bronze in the light flyweight division. China’s other gold medal came through Zhang Xiaoping, who won the light heavyweight division at the Beijing Olympics.
